MEET THE AUTHOR

Michael J. Beasley - Author/Creator of the Elite Justice Force Squad book series saga

Michael is an avid author and prolific writer of his current novel series titled “EJFS: Elite Justice Force Squad Series,” with multiple published titles, and a goal to publish a total of nine books in his saga.

Michael was born in Renton, Washington, USA, and was raised in Des Moines, WA, for the early part of his childhood before moving to Federal Way, WA, for most of his upbringing and adult life.

Michael works as a database technician and a training consultant for a local non-profit in the Greater Seattle area in Washington State.

Michael writes his books intentionally as a voice against bullying and unfair treatment in school, at work, or by the elite upper class. He dedicates his literature to all those oppressed by tyrannical leadership and states that no one should be forced to live in a state of unfair living conditions or subjugation.

Why did you leave your last platform?

I ended up leaving my previous platform because its account recovery options were unforgiving and unaccommodating for those with limited resources or energy to recall all the account recovery information I did not, but should have, noted somewhere before I locked myself out of the account. But now, I’m ready to turn the page to a new place to host my content.

My objective is to leave a legacy that anyone would be proud of, built on their accomplishments and talents.

What inspired you to write your literature?

I have always wanted to find a niche in my writing hobby to turn it into a published medium, since I began writing creatively in my first year of high school and beyond.

In earlier unpublished works, I would write fandom and fanfiction stories before I found a novel idea to latch onto and build my own literary universe to entertain and enlighten the masses at the same time.

My objective is to leave a legacy that anyone would be proud of, built on their accomplishments and talents.

What challenges did you face when you first started writing your literature, and how did you overcome them to publish your books?

The challenges facing me before I landed with a viable publisher were staggering: a lack of reliable information, a lack of scaling and comparison shopping, and a world of publishing meat markets that could weasel you out of the process.

It wasn’t until I researched my current publisher through a newsletter digest and compared pricing with other publishers that I decided to invest time, money, and energy in my go-to publisher (BookLocker Incorporated LLC). Six years ago, I submitted my first manuscript to the publisher, and the submission was accepted.

I also needed to convince my mother to allow me to pursue this venture, which she soon discovered wasn’t for monetary gain or fame, but rather, a healing process to recover from past hurts during school when I was bullied.

Fortunately, after overcoming these hurdles, I published three books, with six more on the way, and I am proud to have earned the title of multi-published author. Overall, I am highly satisfied with the production of my literature, and I aim to continue the partnership for as long as I am alive and breathing.

TODAY’S FEATURED ARTWORK by Michael J. Beasley

EJFS Agent Singh Puneet Sherpa - Illustrated by Michael J. Beasley

The first artwork in this blog is one of my favorite pieces I’ve ever designed and illustrated.

Singh is one of the original recruits who was a driving force for the EJFS to launch. As a preview of his backstory in an upcoming book, he was raised as an adoptive son by the EJFS Chief Commander, Khali Mehta Sherpa, during his early youth before becoming an exemplary superagent in the Elite Justice Force Squad during the superagency’s nascent phase.

If you want to learn more about this character, you can check out my books and read more about Singh Puneet Sherpa and his story.

How do you stay productive and focused on writing your books while managing a busy schedule?

I use a few strategic methods to create time blocks for productive, creative work within my work schedule and to balance my writing.

  1. Noise-canceling earbuds paired to your computer or phone for optimal creative juice pumping.

  2. Plan a time when your living space is most quiet and comfortable to compose a chapter, preferably one per week.

  3. If your home or outside environment isn’t favorable for you to find a creative headspace, take a mini weekend staycation somewhere quiet, i.e., a library or a coffee shop. In some cases, a brief retreat to a reasonably priced hotel room can help you find a space to write and relax, especially if there is a hot tub to decompress from life's stress. Hopefully, no aspiring writer’s situation becomes so drastic that they have to stay in hotels frequently.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to write and publish their own book?

If you have an idea and a storyline in your mind and heart, write it out on paper or in a word processing document. Don’t worry about the quality of your writing not being optimal initially, because there are excellent editors out there who are willing to take great care of improving your writing to a professional level.

One more thing of note, it wouldn’t hurt to find people in your circle of influence to identify a potential editor who would be willing to work with you at a nominal cost to save on expenses that would otherwise be rather high.
